Dheekshitha Venkadeshan, popularly known as Dhee, was born on June 26, 1998, in Sri Lanka and grew up in Australia. Coming from a musical background, her mother, Meenakshi Iyer, is a classical singer, and her stepfather, Santhosh Narayanan, is a famous Tamil music composer. Dhee moved to India to follow her passion for music and started singing for Tamil cinema at a young age.

Her first major song was Disco Woman from Pizza II: Villa in 2013. However, she became widely recognized after singing Naan Nee in the film Madras.
